Dock at Spruce Head

One of a series painted from reference photos taken while visiting coastal Maine in early September. While visiting Spruce Head Island I saw this collection of small boats. The dock reflections and the arrangement of the boats attracted my attention. Although it was an overcast day the colors and the contrast were strong and perhaps may have been lost on a sunnier day.
